About Health Access Sumbawa Ltd (HAS OZ)

Registered in Australia as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) advancing health, public welfare, and the natural environment. ABN # 27630436289 Approved start date 03/02/2019

In May of 2018, three Australians with  private  charitable projects in the Lakey Peak surfing community on Sumbawa Island  decided to join forces  with American Jack Kennedy to start Health Access Sumbawa Ltd, an Australian  affiliate of Health Access Sumbawa Inc.  The resulting non-profit is the only tax-exempt Public Benevolent  Institution based in Australia that is funding programs in Sumbawa.

Charity Programs

A Few of Our Current Programs;

  • First 1,000 Days- Childhood Stunting Prevention.
  • Public Health Clinic & Malaria Laboratory
  • Emergency Travel for Children Who Need Lifesaving Medical Treatment ( Owen Francis Fund)
  • Organic Farm & School- Plant -Based Food Initiatives

Who Benefits?

We focus on families, early childhood, and women living in financially disadvantaged, remote communities on Sumbawa Island in Indonesia.   The Founders are intimately familiar with the needs of central Sumbawa . As donors ourselves with "skin-in-the-game", we personally audit program results and the use of funds on a regular basis, including regular field visits. We are able to exercise unusual control because most programs are implemented by our in-country affiliate, Yayasan Health Access Sumbawa Indonesia.
